Research Interest

I have been actively working on establishing chemical fingerprinting of herbal materials and products, investigation mechanism of action of natural product on non-communicable diseases and elucidating the effect of natural product at molecular level. My work involves pharmacognosical, molecular, biochemistry and pharmacological studies. Major projects currently underway are development of chemical fingerprinting for uni and multi herbs, development of standard for propolis and dissecting mechanism of action of anticancer drug candidate.

Research Experience 

As a horticulturist, the writer has developed technology of reducing fruit drop and improving quality of wax apple fruit under tropical condition. He also conducted research focused on floriculture, postharvest physiology and technology of fruits and vegetables.

  • Fruit set, development and ripening behavior of tropical fruits.
  • PGRs and H2O2 effects on plant physiology and expression of several genes response to growth and color development
  • Postharvest Technology (Postharvest biochemistry and physiology of cut flowers, vegetables and fruits)
