2005-2007         Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia; MSc. Health Sciences (Microbiology)

2007-2010         Universiti Putra Malaysia, PhD. Food Safety

Research Experience

Survival patterns of Vibrio cholerae and Vibrio parahaemolyticus in street food.

Viable and non-culturable state of Campylobacter jejuni.

Research Interest

I am interested in food microbiology and food safety related issues. New and re-emerging foodborne pathogen continues to cause a threat to human health through the consumption of raw, undercooked or contaminated food products.  My current research covers the application of molecular tools to study various aspects of foodborne pathogen, such as Vibrio cholerae, Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Salmonella Typhimurium, and Campylobacter jejuni in local food.
